Join us at The Piggery for a treasure hunt (of sorts) as we go in search of the intoxicating black truffle! The Burnham Beeches Estate is home to a 200-tree-trufferie that has been nurturing a beautiful crop of this aromatic winter delicacy and it’s ready for harvest!
It’s not all hard work though, after joining the experts in the hunt, enjoy the fruits of your labour with a four-course menu designed by Vue de monde Executive Chef, Hugh Allen. A bespoke wine match has also been prepared by Vue Group Head Sommelier, Carlos Simeos Santos.
This is a rare opportunity to harvest the black truffle, a rich fungus that’s near impossible to manufacture or cultivate with human intervention. Its mesmerising aroma is deeply earthy and fragrant, its quality largely influenced by the rich and fertile soil of the Burnham Beeches Estate and surrounding Sherbrooke Forest.
The experience has been designed to be completely immersive, following alongside our truffle hunter Sue and her beloved truffle dogs. You’ll also be given a guided tour of the grounds, which includes exploring our onsite garden that supplies much of the produce used at the famed Vue de monde. You’ll learn more about our guiding principles of sustainability and seasonality, which has influenced our operations from day one.
